Welcome To Freeway Football
If you ever travel along the N2 Freeway in Cape Town, South Africa, you will be able to witness teams of young guys in a cloud of dust, playing football. They’re playing on makeshift fields, with no shoes. Sometimes only one shoe, sometimes mixed shoes. Sometimes they have a real soccer ball. Sometimes it’s just a bunch of plastic bags tied together with string.
Despite their circumstances, these guys play with all their heart, loving the game, the ball and above all, living for the dream of playing for a professional side one day. It is a dream that keeps many of these guys off the streets, a dream that brings the promise of a better future.
Freeway Football is bringing sport, education and commercial support to the communities where football stars are born out of the dust. Freeway Football is making those dreams real.
